Each year, the Henry County SWCD awards several scholarships to graduating and/or presently enrolled college students with plans to major in Natural Resources and/or Agriculture.

 The Henry County Soil & Water Conservation District recently awarded three $500 scholarships to Henry County students who plan to major in and pursue a career in an Agriculture or Natural Resources related field. 

The Charles W. “Dickie” Brewer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Blake Kennedy, son of Chad & Stephanie Kennedy.   Blake is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Murray State University where he is pursuing a Specialist in Education degree (Ed.S.). 

The Henry County SWCD Scholarships were awarded to graduating Henry County High School Seniors Emma Thompson and Garrett Perkins.   Emma, daughter of Eddie & Donna Thompson, plans to attend Austin Peay State University this Fall and major in Pre-Vet with large animal focus.  Garrett, son of Gene & Donna Perkins, plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin this Fall and major in Ag Business. 

The Henry County SWCD is immensely proud of what these students have accomplished and wishes them the best in their future endeavors!

Scholarship applications for 2024 will be available at the Henry County SWCD office and at Henry County High School in January 2024.
