Henry County School System Summer Program Backpack Project

The Henry County SWCD recently awarded a Conservation Education Grant to the Henry County Farm Bureau Women's Committee to help fund the Henry County School System Summer Program Backpack Project.  Backpack food programs provide nutritious, non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food to children to ensure they get enough food on weekends and holidays to avoid hunger when they can’t depend on school meals.  The Women's Committee delivered over 350 bags containing a variety of food & snacks to the Summer Program.  The Henry County SWCD is honored to be a partner in this amazing program!
